Hi all. I posted a few problems when I first tried doing this with a different bolt so I broke down & went with Volquartsen's bolt...First time I've been out with it was this weekend. At first every few shots it would either not fire due to the hammer not cocking after firing or it would be a misfire due to??? Seems for some reason & I'm not sure why...some rounds do not get enough of an imprint on the case rim to ignite...Some show VERY LITTLE IMPRINT...I only had a limited time to play but towards the end of the second box these problems seemed to be going away. I'll be doing more with this gun in the coming months & should be able to iron out these little bugs...That being said, let me say that the Shilen Barrel that is in factory contour is putting all 9 shots into 1/2 inch at 50 yards & this is without a solid rest...(Jacket on the hood of my pickup) I'm useing a Weaver 2-10 & still have the factory stock minus the barrel band...VERY PROMISING...The only other thing I'm planning on buying is a Houge Rubber Overmold stock for it....I'll keep updating as I work things out...Tom

Tom, I had the same problem with the firing pin not striking the case rim very good, as a matter of fact it would strike the very edge of the rim and of course not fire.
I solved this at the range (temporarly) by stuffing a small piece of cardboard in the channel of the bolt where the firing pin rides.....now I just need a more permanent setup but at least it fires every time.

sounds good....

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....
