Contact everyone you know about a job to see if you can improve your position. Then File for a religious exemption. DO NOT QUIT. Let them fire you, and then you can sue on 2 counts. Religious persecution, and wrongful discharge. That will give them something to think about. What they are counting on, is people either buckling to the pressure or quitting. When you don't it makes it very difficult for them. Also talk to all your personal customers and let them know what's going on. They might want to know and have some words. Also consider starting your own company and taking as many of their customers as you can. Or Go to work as a consultant.

They aren't stupid. They will find a way to document any little thing they need to, and will not fire you for not having the shot. It will be because you were two minutes late or someone makes a complaint and you can't locate who might have etc.
They can and will make a file on you and fire you and then lie about why.
Unfortunately they aren't dumb enough to say in writing why.

In Ohio it can be very vague like "employee refused to perform duties as assigned" and if pressed they can say anything they want....didn't empty the trash in your office. Anything they want.

Good luck with your decision. I can't imagine having to make it and just fortunate to be retired. Until they hold your SS payments, Medicare , Medicaid , and hold your retirement funds... The way they are usurping power, I don’t see anything being off the table. And just look at some here ,(as far as wanting the unvaccinated getting the jab) ..... Seems half the population will be demanding it.
Decades of voting for the lesser of two evils has gotten us just that.....

If you are dead set on not getting the jab, I think the advice to let them fire you might have some value to you in a legal suit. However, if you have a pension or other benefits, you best know what being fired does to those, if anything. I’m not an anti vax guy, and have had the jab, but I sure don’t like this mandate. I think that you summed it up in your OP when you referred to not having the resources to retire.
You are caught in a system that you have no control over. If you do not take it you will be fired. If you sue and should happen to win, after years and years and many thousands of dollar of lost income and attorney fees, if you should get reinstated and win some backpay, that the lawyers take most of, you have literally shot yourself in the foot with your employer.
Ask yourself this - how many of those that I know that taken the shot had ill effects from it? Am I prepared to give up my job and make a stand on principle, or can I even afford to do that?
Whether you believe that the shot may have some effects on you, either short or long term, what are your options. It is not a great scenario to be stuck in - I feel for you but you are the only one who can make this potentially life changing decision.
There is always lots of tough talk on the forum but in most cases that is just what it is - tough talk. It is easy to talk tough when it is someone elses life being affected. Do what is best for you and your family.

The reason they are implementing this Marxist, illegal, unconstitutional policy is because they are uniformed. Ask them to provide you with all the factual, science-based evidence they utilized in their decision. When they refuse (because they have none), give them a hard copy of my revised Covid essay. Tell them to read it and if they disagree with the content to provide you with scientific evidence which refutes anything I wrote - not MSM propoganda. Right. As that Israeli health minister said, there's zero epidemiological rationale for the requirement. It's merely designed to intimidate everyone into getting vaxxed. Epidemiologically speaking, the spread of COVID-19 isn't prevented or alleviated by requiring the vax, because the vax doesn't do that, not even according to what its medical advocates claim.

USPS is exempt
NBA is exempt
Congress is exempt
