I contacted the funeral home and they are willing to ask the family if they’d accept a collection. I provided my contact info so they can get back to me. Good onya! Nice try Paul. Trying to dig yourself out of that hole you got yourself into on the first go around?

I applaud your actions and motives, but I don’t know putting his (their) names out there and their hometown is a great idea. If he wanted to use his real name on here he would’ve.

Trying to dig yourself out of that hole you got yourself into on the first go around? I didn't want to derail that thread to say this. Maybe this will shed some light on the spirit of the post. I never really know what to say in a thread like that. I wondered what folks would say about me if I passed. Or if I were killed in a bicycle accident. I'd be sorely disappointed to know that nobody would make any spandex or bicycle comments. It's the way we interact in life, and I'd hope you'd continue on in the same spirit in death. I may be wrong on this, but I think Ethan would have expected and wanted for us to interact the way we always did. The way I saw it, my post was a raise of the glass with a little elbow and a wink, and I think Ethan would have cracked a smile and said, GFY spandex covtard. If that was a miscalculation, it certainly wasn't to make light of his passing, to disrespect him or to anger those with whom he was friends. And with that, I'll discontinue this aside in this thread.
