Yeah. I popped in here out of curiosity to see if maybe this time exchip had something we didn't learn years or decades ago. But no. Just the same fishing for Karens to take up his campaign. As if we all don't already teach gun safety to the new shooters we meet. Nope. Not gonna waste my time reading this nonsense again. My ignore list is extremely short, but exchip just made it on there. 'Bye.

As has become so typical of the “Heart and Soul” of the Handguns forum, what started out as a simple posting of an example of what can happen due to carelessly employing half-cock as a safety instead of engaging the thumb safety on a 1911, has been turned into a huge, drawn-out personality conflict. Too bad. But hey, if that’s what it takes to circulate a simple message to members who may have an opportunity to spread it to those who may need to hear it, then what the heck.

That message again is:

But it isn’t typical. It only happens when you post thread after thread after thread about the same damn thing.

As great a man as he was, Billy Graham never preached to the choir. He didn't do that, because he knew that everyone who sung in the choir were staunch believers in Jesus. If you want to spread the gospel about the 1911, I suggest you go into the heathen lands for your sermons. Everyone here who has a fancy for the 1911 has heard the good word. Try the Democrat Underground. They are Godless heathen.

If one checks youtube. Brownells has a video about two guns Texas Ranger Charlie Miller carried and used. One was a 1911 pistol. According to the video. He carried it chamber loaded on the half cock notch with the grip safety tied down with a raw hide thong.

I have a Colt 1991A1 purchased NIB around the time indicated by the roll mark. I knew nothing about it when I bought it and am only just now learning about these remarkable pistols. I've not carried or used it a great deal, and admittedly shy away from half cock notches. However my gun has never discharged a round without my explicit intent. Something I go to great lengths to insure, but still a good record for an ignorant novice.

Careful, you're going to throw McChipperson in a tiz talking about Charlie Miller.

Somewhere, a horse is missing it's azz, I think we've found it lurking here and posting ad nauseum about an admittedly very rare occurrence by morons who would be dangerous with Nerf guns.

Happily enough, exchumpy is on "ignore" and so is his sock puppet.

What I honestly don’t understand, is why so many here on the Handguns forum keep thinking these 1911 accidental shooting threads are about them and how they should handle a 1911, so they are personally offended by them. But, these threads are instead about reminding us on this forum to take advantage of any opportunities presented to inform otherwise uninformed 1911 users how to stay out of trouble.

Mannlicher gets it. Let the ravings of narcissistic shet-posters drop off the page into oblivion.

As if you didn't have a credibility issue before. Now you pull the " I don't know how my name suddenly changed after all the heat I have been taking for my incredibly poor conduct", and posts that repeatedly take into question your honesty.

Exchipy, the thing is that these things follow you OWN your conduct. Erasing your posts does not mean that you did not post them. It just simply shows your character.

Bad mouthing all the members here who call you out on your conduct just further seals it Exchipy.

It might be a good idea to consider how your conduct reflects upon you in a professional capacity.
