Try RL26 and a 150gr BTip or Partition and you will sell that .06

Lots of good advise here.
Myself, it has been my most useful chambering for decades . Until Alliant came up with their new powders and so many great new bullets came on market, I was fairly traditional. I used the 4831's, 4350's etc with much success. I seldom use them now because Reloder 26 and 16 have displaced them.
Reloder 16 on the 130's and 26 for the heavies, it is amazing stuff. Bull Elk are the baseline game animal here and I prefer the Nosler 150 gr Partition over RL 26 and the Hornady 130 gr GMX/ RL 16.
The 150 Partition @ 3030 fps from a 22" barrel is a great first choice for Elk and Moose, imo

I already have 150gr BT's on my list. I'm looking forward very much to heading down the road with this 270. I was one those who before I began reloading, had the 270 isn't needed attitude. Until in recent years, some friends who have been through it, have made the same comments about getting rid everything else! No way I'll get rid my Tikka M65, made in 1975. I dare say it's in the top 3 of THE BEST rifles ever made! I'm shooting 150's with it in 1/2" several times @ 100yds, with A4064. But I got the feeling I got another jewel in this 700. I cleaned it good yesterday. It's in 98% condition IMO, inside and out! I'm Locked & Loaded with my 06 for deer season soon to come, so I probably won't start shooting the 270 until after 1st year, hope I can wait that long??

I’ve only used IMR4831 to this point; but I will be switching to H4831SC soon. I think I can get my groups to closeup a little more with the H4831SC, than I can currently with IMR4831.

Been using RE 19 for years with 130 gr. pills. Accurate and good velocity. YMMV

IMR 7977 is also a great choice for the 150s and temp stable.

The two or three 270's Ive had preferred 150 gr bullets and RL22 powder.

is anyone running R26 with 130's? If so what kind of velocity are you getting?

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Mine is boringly accurate with the old standard 60.0 gr H4831SC, CCI 200 and any 130 grain bullet seated to the right length. There is a noticeable difference between the 4831s. Mine likes IMR with 150s.

I have since switched it up to an S&B 6x42 since it’s mainly a deer rifle and from 0-400 the #4 reticle is great in the woods as well as a little longer poke. The old M8 Leupold worked okay, just lacked a little on dark days.

RL16 on the 130s......I've used the 4831s for 50+ years but this RL16 has em beat IMO.
The RL26 for 150s and 160s gave exceptional performance.

Thanks for the info. I am getting 3067 with IMR 4350 and NBT 130's. I know R26 is "magic" with heavier bullets but was not sure what it would do with lighter ones. I know ever rifle is different but if everything held true it looks like about a 78 FPS gain to switch.

I have 10 or 12 boxes of those. I need to try some, see how they shoot in 270’s, 270 Weatherby and 270 WSM’s. I shot a lot of the original Bear Claws years ago. I think Jack Carter would have liked the tip on his bullet.
