Costco is best place to buy good anti freeze...

Their American Vodka has high reviews along with claims it made by Grey Goose

$14 a jug

I can do it

Totally get that. But there's the math too. Lets say a decent brand like Prestone 50/50 is 10 bucks for the gallon jug. Pay 10 bux get one gallon.

Then you have the "concentrate" which is reglr ole antifreeze: 10 bux or so, mebbe 12. Get the reglar then wander across the store to the grocery department and get a gallon of distilled water for a buck. Mix. Pay, say 12 bux, get two gallons. $6 per gallon.

Yeah I know this describes a theoretical Walmart transaction, and they have changed a smidge in the last 30 years where they sell groceries now, but you could get the same basic deal by breaking it up the transaction between a Napa or Advanced Auto and yer Piggly Wiggly.

Just a thought.

Yikes, stay away from the Dexcool, that S##T only works for a couple GM models back from 1980 something, and if you mix it with regular antifreeze it will coagulate like bacon grease in the freezer.

Water and just enough to ‘color it’ works good enough. 75/25

Geez. You’re wasting it!

Lowest freeze point (at least for the glycols) is ~65%. That’ll get ya to around -60 ‘merican degrees. Freeze point is warmer at concs higher and lower.

I used to mix the concentrate to that with distilled water from the lab, when I lived in Fairbanks.

If you just use water, you can drink it if you get stuck in the desert. Plan ahead!

Desert Water Bags is the way to go.

Don't buy any brand that already has water in it because it's a huge ripoff. Distilled water only costs $1 a gallon.

^^^This^^^

The pre cut 50/50 cost as much as pure antifreeze but for half as much.

Prestone isn't bad.
Walmart brand is a tad bitter.
