I had 7 different boat paddles at one time and am down to only the 300 win and 22lr. The 243 is the one rifle that I regret selling the most. If I find one at a decent price it will be coming home with me.

Have the same and one in 223.
They`ll be the last to go!
I`ve also had 77RP`s in 300 & 338 Win Mag.
I`d like to have the 338 back!

Great Rifles. Tough as nails!

I would like to find a 7mm-08 or other short action to add to the stable.

Have shown this many times before. They are all keepers.

Left to right, .338WM, .300WM, .30-06.

Had one in 30-06 and don't regret letting it go for a second. That sucker kicked more than I cared for.

I really like the boat paddle skeleton stocks, many years ago I bought several bare short action skeleton stocks to keep for future use. Glad I did. The short action stocks can be hard to find....

They make great 'aftermarket' stocks, as well! smile

I keep an eye for them used to keep just in case. Already got a LA Mag contour waiting for my 9.3 Alaskan build.

Coyote or others,

How many different models of the M77 MkII came SS with open sights? They seem awfully scarce...

Might also add...

As you can see from the pic, my buddy and I shoot our .375's open sighted. The boat paddle actually works really well for iron sights and despite its thin profile neither one of us gets smacked in the cheek. Perhaps, high mounted scopes exacerbate the problem?

We also put both our Africans in boat paddles.

I own a boat paddle 7Mag. It's one of my most accurate rifles with both full house and reduced loads. It does have significant recoil, even with a Limbsaver, but it won't be leaving my safe anytime soon.

No idea on how many models came with iron sights.

Two of my boat paddle stocks were purchased separately. One replaced a laminate stock (.30-06) while the other went on a build that started as a naked action (.338WM). The factory barrel for that one came from Cariboujack, who bought it from someone else. My .300WM is factory stock but has a slick barrel.

Do any of you fiddle at all with the barrel channels on the boat paddles?

Had a couple, a .308 and a .22, gave them to my kids, too soon apparently as they went down the road.

I didn't do anything to mine, no bedding, nothing. They all shoot great. Several years back I was getting ready for elk season and took the .338 and .30-06 to the range for a final scope check. A couple shots at 100 and I went for clay pigeons at 600. Total 5 shots, 2 with one and 3 with the other and a clay pigeon with each.

Have one in .35 Whelen. Shoots great, tough as nails, ugly as sin. Have 2 other Whelens and .358, so Skeletor doesn't make it out much. Seen a few go for stupid money on GB, and got me thinking.....

Agree.
Agree.
Matter of opinion. I've had a Savage that made my boat paddles look really nice.
Agree

I do have to say the Savage was one heck of a shooter before the barrel went.

Just picked up another mint Ruger boat paddle stocked rifle in a 270...will go nice with my 30-06. Don't really need but couldn't pass on the price.

I have one in 243 Winchester and one in 338 Win Mag. Got rid of the 30-06 like a moron! It was a week moment! One moose trip, the 338 had to be used as a canoe paddle!I've found them to be as tough as nails and accurate too.

dont like the way the stock directs recoil. do like the durability and stiffness of the stock. don't give a sh** whether they look nice.

i have one in .22 LR and HAD one in .270. the .270 was fairly average in the accuracy department and i never did enjoy shooting it. the .22 was my first rifle and will never leave. it has mowed down countless critters and soldiers on (for the better part of 25 years now, yikes!)

i would prefer to have one in .243 for centerfire purposes.
