Thanks guys. You are assuming it is 100% all original? I'm wondering how many guys post this kind of question and then come to find out it has an extra hole drilled in it somewhere or it doesn't have an original stock... Threads like these really need pics and a very good description. "Been hunted, metal is average" is a hell of a good description. Just sayin
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Without seeing the rifle or even pictures of it:
$750.00 to $850.00

BSA17 above response, amplified! "Worth" posting some photos if seriously seeking a "rifle worth" evaluation. Experienced eyes to note matters possibly 'insignificant to owner' as 'making or breaking' collector $$$ category. Such potentially moving a ho-hum specimen to collector desirable and sadly too often the opposite! The latter we sometimes see as the "Rare Uncatalogued Variant", of Internet ads! Decent photos as definite plus, my definite take! Best! John

If the action hasn't met a prick named bubba, and it has all factory sights including hood, meaning it could be put back in a nice FWT walnut stock if wanted, 1200 bucks.

Parts value probably $1300- $250 for scope, $400 for stock, $650 for barreled action. Whole rifle to someone just looking for a rifle probably $900

Technically yes, but, i have a standard rifle in 270 that had it's stock driven over and broken back in the 60's, that old man had a stick of English walnut built for it that would have the 'custom' collectors grabbing checkbooks ; ]

I know 2 guys in town that had that happen with their 338's.
