When I got out of high school I worked for a building contractor for 9 months and all the old carpenters removed the guards on all of their saws. The only guards that bother me are the ones on circular saws but you can't remove the guards on most of the modern circular saws. I do like having blade guards on my miter saws and my metal cutting 12" chop saw.
