Summit Viper is getting retired after almost 15 years. I don't know how it happened, but one of the cable ends was crushed in. This is after prying it open to get the cable out.
The "good" side
Stripping the parts for spares
I just ordered a Summit Titan that should be here before opener, so I can still position for the wind, scrapes rubs and trails.
I guess I got my money's worth out of it. I'm interested in how well the foam they put in the new aluminum tubing works to reduce noise.
He was or still is summit pro staff. He had some pull with them awhile back..
Good to know. I'm not thinking it's a warranty issue though.
Nonsense. You should call the company and show your ass to them.
Like these dumshits that will wear out a pair of boots over 20 years and then bitch to the company for a free replacement.
I used that SOB for years, and had already ordered another Summit before finding that damage. Damage I probably caused using it later season last year throwing it in my trailer while slipping on ice.
I'll stick to my normal means of being an a-hole, and leave that behavior to the professional jerks

I am still fighting with GM over getting the fuel tank replaced in my 66 GMC.
No way should it have rusted out after 45 years. Thats just corporate greed for ya. Engineered obsolescence.
