Was cuffed withh a shotgun pointed at the back of my head at 18 but never took a trip in a cruiser. I bet that was fun. 7 squad cars with guns pointed at me, not counting the one Sarge had at the back of my head and the Sheriff's copter lighting us up. Cuffed and brought back to the car to look for bad guys in it, all the while my 80lb lab cross puppy was laying right on the seat where he was told to. Mistaken identity felony stops are never not fun. But, I was given an apology and not taken for a ride downtown!

A pickup full of guns and money, a [bleep] of cops and the owner of the pickup a known drug trafficker. They even had Border Patrol on that stop.

5; went AWOL from kindergarten and was 3-4 hours late getting home. Cops got called.
A couple of minor “misunderstandings” in my teens. One including guns pointed at me with “we’d have no problem smoking a couple of young punks like you”
No Soviet jewelry, no back seat rides after the one when I was 5.

1978. Senior in HS. Had my 75 Trans Am with the Factory 455 and Hurst 4 Speed. We thought it big fun to drive by a cop and flip them off or holler dumbass or something clever. They had Dodge Patrol Cars That were slower than schitt. Probably out ran and got away from at least 10 or 12 of them before this particular episode.
Just happened to be 2:00 AM shift change and a bunch of them had just hit the street. I outran the Patrol Sgt That was chasing me by a mile or two, but I didn’t outrun his radio. 😳 Came to a HWY intersection that had 4 Patrol Cars blocking me off. Cops were behind their cars with their Shotguns in hand. So I slid to a screeching halt and tossed one of them my keys, laughed and said, “Y’all Win”. 😬 Spent the night in the City Drunk Tank because their other cells were all full that weekend. Cost Mom $250 for my bail the next morning and to appear before the City Judge. The Patrol SGT that I ran from was there, and the Judge asked him to describe what happened. He told the old judge that I was nice, polite and cooperative and it was probably the “safest” car chase he had ever been in. The Old Judge looked at me and said, “Son, I better not ever see you in my court again ! $250 Fine and Time Served ! “
Mom was still pissed and said your one lucky SOB. One of the few times I ever heard her curse. Luckily for me, Dad was out of town. She never told him about it either. 🤠

Yep. I thought $250 was pretty steep at that time Roger. I think I was making $3.00 an hour at that time. Payments on my Trans Am were $250 per month and my Insurance was $100 per month because I had so many speeding and contest for speed tickets. Probably the best thing I’d ever done at that time was selling that Car. That was the end of my “Smoky and The Bandit” days. 🤠
