There used to be several along the main street in Kings Cross, Sydney, which was also more or less the "red light" district, as well as being about the only part of town you could go drinking and clubbing all night and finish up with breakfast and a cab home when the sun was up. Big blokes would be outside the door of places like "The Love Machine" and "Porky's" urging the young blokes to "come in, have a look". Drinking age here has always been 18, but time was that this was pretty loosely observed, so as long as you looked 18 you were in.

I went in a few times, including one memorable night when a girl I knew slightly was desperate to see the action, and talked me into taking her. It certainly primed her pump.

The dancers would not only get right down to naked and spreading 'em, but every now and again they'd call for a bloke from the audience to join in - to the cheers of his mates, or the catcalls, depending on his performance. There was also the option of "upstairs", for those who wanted to join in more privately.

The Cross has changed a fair bit since then. I suspect that as legal brothels and legal casinos and late-opening pubs and clubs spread out across Sydney and into the suburbs the appeal of the place waned.

If you’re ever in central PA, check out the Rhododendron in Sykesville. Classy place 😆, complete with a chicken wire fence between the band (never seen a band actually play there) and the audience.

Carried a customer (68 year old by the way) to the Taj Mahal in Atlanta once, drew $5K from petty cash, had it busted into $20s. Got him situated in the nice section and dropped the cash over his head which precipitated a shark like feeding frenzy of completely nude nubile 20 somethings, they coveyed up around him and I was afraid he was going to have the "Big one Ethel" right there. His Askari was sure I had flat out murdered him...he did survive but it was a near thing.

In my twenties one of my good friends was Robbie Dumas his dad Bob Dumas owned a couple of strip clubs and a nightclub, they were Banbitos. When his dad hired new girls Robbie would bring them to the apartment for us to try them out.

When i was working on the Charter Oak Bridge in Hartford ,CT. in the 1980's i was known to "tour",Uncle Al's & Uncle Dave's,there were a couple more,i forget.If you got too worked up there was the Omega Club,Whispers,The Smart Set in Vernon,even made it up to Mardi Gras in Springfield Mass,and The Magic Lantern, Munson Mass.My mother blew a gasket when she saw my grandfather wearing his ,"FOLLOW ME TO THE MAGIC LANTERN .MUNSON ,MA." nudie girl t shirt,lol. When i lived in Houston Tx. Went to RICKS & Baby O's a time or two.
