Some areas around here it is illegal to back into a parking spot! I was ticketed in LaCrosse several years ago! Blew my mind!
Irony there is that anyone nosing in here is liable for a ticket as well...locals take great joy in quietly sidling up to errant travellers parking nose in and just letting them know it is a $400 fine for parking nose in...every single one I have done this to has thanked me profusely and rushed to correct the error. No idea what the fine is though...but funny.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

With 4 kids, the wife shepherded a stuffed full V10 Excursion for years with nary a scratch. The Tahoe she's driving now seems like a sports car in comparison. That said, to this day she aggressively seeks out curbs and potholes, and likes to see how fast she can drive over speed bumps. Oh well.

My wife is one of the best drivers I know. She has a spotless driving record . She us a super example for my teenage daughter, who is still learning to drive. She reads your posts on here?

My wife loves hugging the shoulder. Her car has dings and scratches all down the passenger side, wheels are all scraped up too. You know why, because she has never had a car payment in her life. Maybe if she bought one with her money she would take better care of it. She did the same with my old truck when she would borrow it. She asked to borrow my new one a few months ago to pick up some furniture and that turned into me wasting a whole saturday picking up furniture, hell if I was gonna let her drive.

My wife is a good driver, overly cautious, if anything. The problem is her mouth when I'm driving.

When that happens I sit in the back and I refer to her as “driver.”
I tried that once, but my wife's driving bothered me so bad that I sobered up.

"The Warden" is a very good driver, misses potholes,slows down when necessary, etc. - just like most country girls.
She can back a trailer (given time and minimal direction) fairly well, but prefers not to try the bigger ones.

Our parking lots are designed as pull in back out anymore.
I hate it. In theory, it's easier and takes less space.
In practice, you have to back into the travel lane blind.
Because the cars beside you block your vision.
People drive and walk that lane like they have not a care in the world.
They also back into that lane like there is 0 chance of a kid or car
being there.

My wife grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming. She can back a trailer better than me and is also a more prudent driver. She began driving a Ford 8N.at eight years old. My dad restored Ford Model A's and he taught me to drive at age 10 in a hayfield.
Getting older makes driving harder. Losing peripheral vision, difficulty with oncoming headlights at night, etc. I occasionally get honked at. Realize I need to slow it all.down, check twice, look twice before any maneuvers.

People driving in the lane, people walking, kids running around. And 95 dumb, non driver [bleep] are trying to back into that travel lane and DGAF about running over kids. After all, their kids are bouncing off the inside of their car. The only one they do GAF about, are safe.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
