Heck of a trophy and shot.
I also have a '86 in 33 Win. I've taken one small buck with it, but it was a lot closer.

Most excellent! Don't get much better than a huge buck, a fantastic rifle, and a cast bullet.

Outstanding! Just seen this. I've held a new 1886 several times, itching to buy it, but just not interested in the 45-70. Not knocking it, know well how effective it is, just not for me. I'd love one in 33 wcf, but better yet a 348 Mod 71. I do love leverguns & iron sights, killed my last 5 deer with a 30-30, a 336 Marlin but last with a Mod 64 Win. But that is one big buck, congratulations! I also started the year off intending to try cast bullets, but took a 180, and vested in a new 30-06 and 270 and reloading for them. Enough to do there!

Outstanding! Helluva buck and a great rifle! Congrats!
Does my heart good to see someone else who enjoys wood and blue steel firearms and uses open sights!
Congrats.

I feel the same way kaywoodie! Don't comment much, but I've enjoyed a lot of your levergun results and reports!

Congrats! Love my 1886. She’s chambered in 33 WCF and puts a thumpin of deer. 200 grain Hornady does the trick.
