Looking to put a small weapons light on my Winchester 94 Trapper 44mag. Under or alongside the barrel not on top in the way of the iron sights. Anyone know of a reliable rugged product? Thinking a 2-4 slot section of picatinny rail?

Wild West Guns used to make one when I worked there. It slid onto the Mag tube and was held on with two set screws. They made a model for the 1895 Marlin and the 336/94 and I’m pretty sure the one for the 336 will work on the Winchester. You might measure your Mag tube and call to check the ID.

It's not currently in stock, but the Hill People Gear mount is this ticket. The only down side is that you will have to buy a 1913 rail for MLOK separately. I do wish it allowed for the mounting of the WML on the side of the magazine tube instead of only the bottom. https://hillpeoplegear.com/Products/CategoryID/8/ProductID/135This is the only other decent looking mount that I've seen, but unfortunately it's only for Marlin products. https://www.wildwestguns.com/product/laser-light-mount-1895/A third, less conventional method that I've seen, was a 1" scope mount and base soldered onto the side of the barrel band with a 1" flash light in it.
