No reason but cost to handload for that!

I’ve a pair of 6 creeds on Kimber 84s that I had spun up for the kids. Both shoot 108s very well and have piled deer up easily.

No reason but cost to handload for that! Ammo availability is a big issue for less than mainstream chamberings here in this province. I tried before and had to get it out west. The closest decent LGS is 2 hrs from here and they didn't have it last yr when I bought what I have.

I had a Ruger Predator in 6CM, one of the very early rifles. Shot just fine with both Hornady loads, 103 and 108 iirc. The 103 shot just a hair better. The Barnes 95 LRX shot even better but it was hard to find. I took the 103 loads to MT and dropped 2 deer nicely with single shots and not much fuss. Just moved on from it because I found a rifle I wanted more

I have been looking for some .243 Win ammo. Not much to be found but there seems to be a lot of 6mm CM in factory ammo in the shelves.
What gun manufacturers are making a 6CM? How do you like yours? I have a couple in cobbled-together kit. Due to years of overwhelmingly positive feedback surrounding factory ammo for both the 6.5 amd 6mm Creedmoor, I decided to give a couple of different brands a whirl in my latest 6mm Creedmoor. I hadn't fired a factory round in 30 years and so it took a bit to overcome that sinfulness but the 95 LRX, 103 ELD-X were both szchidt-eatin'-grin accurate and the 87gr Varmint Express was not too far behind. I was able to buy all three of factory brands pretty readily - either locally or via Midway so if you're going to shoot factory stuff, I'd likely opt for the 6mm Creedmoor - it won't be going away anything soon. And, Tom - save the brass for me.

Scott, I can roll my own but I am down on .243. And it’s getting too close to deer season to start a load and check it. But I do see 6CM all over the place when I look at ammo. (I always check) Plus, I just want a new gun.

I think if Scheels runs a good sale in the next month, I will add one to my collection. Other than that, I have not seen another rifle in that chambering in a real store.

I wished I’d gotten a couple of them at that price. I’m pretty sure I got one of the last ones though. It was a great deal. The rifle is a gem. Trigger needs a little addressing but it’s a solid package for me. It’s a 7.5 twist and has shot 55 NBTs and 105 HPBTs into small groups. Sorry if I’ve missed it but curious on the 55’s. I have a lot of them and I would like to give them a go. I’ve read where H414 is pretty much the go to in 243 but I don’t have any and don’t expect to see any available. Fingers crossed you’re using a different powder…haha.

When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

I’d think 4895, 15, 17, etc would all work fine. Anyplace 414 works, 17 is better in my opinion.

Well that’s good to hear! I have a lot of it too for 250AI 708 22-250AI before switching to H4350 and 223AI before switching to lever. I hate to be the guy asking a question and wanting a certain answer but it worked this time…ha. Thank you.

I need to order a trigger for that rifle. And maybe some Hammers.

The timney I put in another vanguard years ago has been fine so that’s what I put in this one. It has been fine. I still need another one for a close out 243 I keep in the truck. Timney and rifle basix are the only options right?
