Sand Billy.......up to date reviews may be your best source for the data you need!
Today’s appliances are “not” designed to last like those of yesteryear! And, generally they meet those expectations. One of our chest freezers is a 1963 Sears Coldspot......still going strong! 😉 Though.....I do need to replace the lightbulb! 🤪. memtb
You got us beat, which I didn't think was possible. The Kenmore in my garage, my grandmother bought for my mom when I was 6 or 7, so 46ish years old? Still runs like a charm although the orange power light has burned out so I need to check it often.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

About 12 or so years ago we gambled on the freezer, by giving $50.00 to an older couple, that told us they could not guarantee how long it will last! So far - so good! We feel pretty good about the investment! 🤪 memtb

We just got a floor model for half price from Home Cheapo,a Frigedaire.Non defrost model. Seems ok for now,but i highly doubt we'll get 10 years out of it,much less 40 or more.

I am using a wizard my parents bought from Western Auto in 1958. The year I was born.

Chest freezers hold a lot and keep food a long time. There's probably some elk from '18 down in there somewhere. Prolly 2008. Clean that thing out and be like “Dad gum, i knew i had some bass filets in there, dated 2013” 😂😂 Random stuff too. Pack of ribs. Butter beans. And dark chocolate chips.

last week my wife told me we should clean ours out and shut it off.
I bet we have stuff from 2008.
The only thing we really use it for is to keep a turkey frozen the 2 weeks before thanksgiving when we buy it on sale

Our little town had one - it was the only business in town besides a barber shop and a feed store. I used to get their catalog and pick out all the cool things I would buy for my truck when I was old enough to drive.

Bought a 10 plus cubic foot at Home Depot six months ago. To early to say much but it works just fine so far, it’s a GE.
