I was shooting Remington corelokts when the extractor gave up. So I whacked the barrel on my truck tire gently to shake the shell out. That's when my leupold scope came loose from my talleys cracking to pieces. It fell and knocked the damn bolt handle off my favorite Remington 700. Where should I go from here?

Local gunsmith should be able to repair the bolt. Scope back to Leupold, rings back to Talley.

+1 on the lottery ticket

Sounds like the shooting sports may not be the best hobby choice for you. Perhaps you should explore other endeavors. Maybe something with crayons. 😁

Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Funny you mention that. That sticky melty pad did mess up my favorite Biden Harris tee shirt pretty bad after shooting a ton. Must have shot 2 or 3 boxes of those shells trying to get the scope dialed in. I'm usually dead eye shot but something was up. Not sure if I was pulling them cause of the crappy trigger or that leupold scope couldnt hold its zero

It being a Remington are you sure it didnt go off all by itself?

This sounds like one of PaulBernard’s Ruger stories...

I'd put it on Gunbroker. Be honest . . . full disclosure. Start it at $999.

I shoot all my Remingtons that way. Takes a bit of practice and I get the safeties set at 2lbs with a crisp break.

Works well after you get the muscle memory down pat.

Sell what remains of the gun and buy golf clubs.
