touch the rifling is my preference 150 yds or so where the bullet hit and the same bullet and load

I've used both a regular crimp die and the Lee Factory Crimp Die on rifle cartridges with cast bullets; I also use the M-die. I prefer the Lee FCD because it more reliably removes the flare by pushing from the side and you can look into the top of the die to see how much crimp is being applied.
