Well I do believe JB said once that a slow burner that gives fast velocity in a long barrel will still give you great velocity in a shorter one. Don't know but I did have a push feed M70 carbine 20" that liked 150 gr nbt's and H4350 all of my 270's shoot 60 grains of H4831 great with 130's and when I loaded for that 7600 in 270 this fall H4831 and 150 gr Rem Corelokt roundnoses made tight groups for a gun with a shotgun trigger. Sounds generic but most 270's aren't to finicky mighty queersome wouldn't you say? .mb

Copy that. The Ol man was saying 4831 too. Gotta bunch so I’ll probably just run it. Trigger is horrible, gotta get it tuned in as well. Just gonna be a vanilla killin rifle. 6x36 should be here this week. I’ll make sure to take a pic of the box it comes in upon arrival!! 😂😂

You need to sell me that 6x36 and get you one of them wonder dialing scopes. So you can wonder if'n it's high/low or left/ right off or on. Advice like that usually costs big money you know.. mb

Turned out pretty good, handy package.

Magnum Bob, looks like RL 26 might be a good choice as well. 👍

You’re never going to kill stuff with a Ruger and a 6x scope Jud. Can’t you read the inter webs.

Yeah, if you have 26, that’d be where I’d start. With 130 Hornadys start around 60 and I bet by 62 grains you have your load along with 3150-3200 on the chrono. Just a guess though. Never heard of a 270 whistle

😂😂 thanks Scotty. Gotta send you some 6.5-300 Wby and a can of smoked salmon. I need video of you smashing a lib in the mouth though!! Haha

Copy on the 26’, watched the grandson and new pup today and did some reading, sounds promising. 👍

Classic looking package.

It isn't the latest and greatest for speed, but if you have some IMR4350 hanging around about 55 grains under those 130s will very likely cut some small groups if anything will.

Man, you’d make the Christmas card list for some of that Salmon. Brass won’t go to waste either, send me what you need for it.

Mathman mentioned 4350, good stuff as well but I’m sold in 26 and 23 in the 270. All these years later and there ain’t hardly a better buck getter. I used the PRC this year but really it just copied the 270. I know it gets left behind at far out but for normal shooting it’s still king in my book.

Plus I’m superstitious and think ol BobinNH looks down and steadies stuff up with the 270 WCF in play grin

Shoot, just pour 4831 in it and stuff a bullet on top. Chances are that’ll be good too.

Nice rifle. Dunno what it is, I hated those front sites though! Had a 300 wm just like it, heavy bastard but shot well. 👍
