There will be enough Republicans to vote to confirm Steve: You are correct, there will be enough Republicans to confirm. Hillary won't likely be who it is. What I'm waiting to see is how do they convince Kamala to leave. I believe a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court is a good way for them to convince her. The only problem there is that Barack wants that gig.

W A R isn't always wrong. The Communists have to do something, and soon. The scenario he lays out is plausible in our nutty world of lapdog corrupt media and oligarch-bought and paid for media/politics. However, the clock is running on Kamala's Supreme Court seat. No way she'd be confirmed in this Senate, and absolutely not after Jan 3 2023 after the next GOP Congressional blowout.
Hillary is still possible, because I don't think the Senate has to confirm a vice-presidential appointment after resignation. Spiro Agnew and Gerald Ford come to mind.
