A specially when they weigh 2 to 300 lbs and the boat was probably designed to hold up to 6 regular sized people. That inlet is a Pucker Factor of about a 10. Ifin I had a Boat I think that i would try and find a better place to head out to open water.

Put the wind against the tide and you got a rough go. Those runabout boats look like water scoops to me. That along with having more people that you should in the boat. Life can be rough on us dreamers.

They seem to think they are bulletproof until that first swamping wave. No life jackets on, everybody relaxed and/or drunk, and expecting a fun ride- even on the obviously overloaded boats... Most of those people would be crab bait if they tried that on the Columbia River mouth during a bad tide change... Never underestimate your ability to overestimate your ability.

Haulover inlet is famous as well as Jupiter inlet on the east coast of Florida. Combine an outgoing tide with onshore wind and they’ll stack up waves bad, it can be real tricky to spot until you’re into it too. Even relatively benign inlets like Destin can smack you around if you’re not careful.

Can't believe how many don't at least have this kids in life jackets. Here it is a requirement for all kids under 13 to have a life jacket on at all times when the boat is moving. 3825 24336

I owned a Jet-Ski Rental for three years - want to see some super stupid people go sit and watch .
