I have never understood a restaurant saying we welcome you to come back off duty...WTF do you think we are that stupid? I have never heard of a Police Force which allowed its officers to be unarmed when off duty.

They just opened the doors this weekend. The cops were footbeat cops in the area they patrol.

Sounds like the perfect place for a bunch of conservatives to go “dine and dash”.
What?? You think these folks are gonna do something about it????

They’re getting their asses handed to them on online reviews.
No kidding. And rightfully so. Everything woke turns to schit and even San Francisco libtards are calling out the restaurant owners. Helluva way to run a business. Link to yelp reviews

Don't Californians have to steal upwards of $950.00 value to rise above petty theft? Under $50.00 is an infraction...

Their restaurant, their rules. I wouldn't eat there.

I have never heard of a Police Force which allowed its officers to be unarmed when off duty.
There are some. For many many years, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept. required off duty deputies to always be armed. A lot of deputies bitched about it over the years because they "carried a gun all day long and did not want to carry one off-duty." So sometime around 1980 +/- (?), the policy was changed. The requirement was dropped. Instead, the Department sent out the memo that even though deputies no longer had to carry a weapon off duty, it was highly recommended that they still carry. So some did, some didn't. I do not know about LAPD's policy. Might be the same. (??) FWIW. L.W.

I'd love for someone to go in, order a meal, eat it, then refuse to pay or leave. What are they going to do, call the cops?

The co-owner of a San Francisco restaurant defended refusing service to three uniformed police officers following backlash over the move, calling the establishment a "safe space."
"It's not about the fact that we are anti-police," chef and co-owner of Hilda and Jesse, Rachel Sillcocks, told ABC7 News. "It is about the fact that we do not allow weapons in our restaurant. We were uncomfortable, and we asked them to leave. It has nothing to do that they were officers. It has everything to do that they were carrying guns." https://www.yahoo.com/news/san-francisco-restaurant-defends-denying-143908099.htmlPerfect. Don't call when you're burglarized. Life is about choices.

Well now..... I wish them well but, after they are robbed and or burglarized, I guess they will need to call and have the folks with guns that they are uncomfortable with in their business to investigate the crime. If they are truly uncomfortable they will not call and then complain about the lack of police protection??? Have a nice day!
