they are ok for their intended purpose of keeping the sun out of your eyes. these douche wagons that walk around with them on backwards make me laugh. if i am wearing a hat for a purpose, its going to be a straw cowboy in summer or a stormy kromer in winter. if its really cold but dry, a fleece beanie.

I wear a ball cap for hunting and pretty much everyday use. I take it off when I go into any establishment.
I saw a biker type woman (with backup) in a bar go over and take a Cowboy feller's hat off his head cause she didn't like his hat, her backup laughed, till the Cowboy got up and started swinging, I was quite amused.

Make fun of my hat........... hold my beer.

Some people have to wear a ball cap.

It's the only thing on their mind.

Shouldn't touch a feller's hat.

I'm perfectly OK with people wearing whichever they choose, just as long as they know the difference and don't call a cap a hat.

I once saw a photo of Chuck Norris with a ball cap, so take a hike or Chuck will pay you a visit.

Never go outside without...
Winter- a felt rancher cap for work, a ball cap for working in tight spots but usually a felt cowboy hat.
Summer- a ball cap( as above )and a palm leaf cowboy hat
This is function not fashion- if it is fashion, it is city style.

I almost never wear any kind of hat. I have a ton of baseball hats but they don't see any action.

Synonyms for cap

chapeau, hat, headdress, headgear, headpiece, lid [slang]

Merriam Webster seems to thing it's a suitable synonym.

Nanner nanner nanner!

Lots of Canucks wear ball caps, especially the ones with the adjustable straps at the back. That lets them poke their man buns thru the hole above the strap.

What about that guy that cooks great food, has a beautiful wife, children, and dogs, catches fish and shoots deers?

Is he a real man?
