Jim Kobe did the rebarrel on my JC Higgins model 51 I believe, Commerical mauser action. Went from 270 to 9.3x62 with a shillen #4 at 22 inches did a side swing safety and added a Timney trigger too. Dropped mine in a McMillan stock. less than 3 week turn around a few years ago . My favorite rifle.

I inquired about him doing a rifle for me and he never even responded to my emails. The Nathaniel Myers guy in Ohio is close but not taking work for a long time. I’m still looking for a builder.

Check with Bill Jacobs at Bolt and Barrel Gunsmithing. He is in SC. Hopefully that isn't a deal breaker. He does awesome work though.
