All mine are set at twenty ounces. When I hunted with a Freedom Arms .454 it was set at eighteen ounces.

Now you guys got me all worked up. I've swapped out a number of trigger springs for lighter trigger pull, but have never checked any of them.

Looking at either the Lyman Electronic Trigger Pull Gauge or Wheeler Professional Digital.

Either of these any good?

The amount of pressure you need to apply to a trigger is one aspect of a good trigger.

Sort of a personal thing.

When I set them for myself I set my triggers around 2 lbs or just a bit more, depending on how they function at those levels. I've found some triggers aren't all that reliable at 2 lbs on hunting rifles... when I set them for others on their hunting rifles I usually set them around 3 lbs...

On my varmint hunting rigs I often set them around 1.5 lbs or so...

There’s more than three.

I have Timney triggers in 3 of my hunting rifles and they came set at 1 1/2 pounds, I really like them. I have a Savage with an adjustable trigger and it's also set at 1/12 pounds. All that said my Browning A-Bolt 30.06 with a 3 pound trigger is the most accurate rifle I own.

Good point! On my slow moose hunts on farms I prefer 20# trigger pulls for up close shots. All other hunts I like a 2.5-3# trigger pull.

3+, for a lot of reasons.

If you think that 2 or 2.5 make a difference you're delusional & full of schitt.

Kinda depends on the rifle. My .22 is set quite light. On the other hand, last fall my 7-08 trigger seemed a tad firm. I took it down til it broke comfortable and was still safe. Perhaps 2.5 pounds? I tend to go by feel rather than a pull gauge.
