I've been using IMR4320 with either 150 gr. Sierra's or Hornady 300 Savage SSTs. The charge weight and bullet vary for particular rifles. Now that IMR4320 is a thing of the past it's back to the drawing board, so I'll have to look into some of the other responses. Accurate 4064 is very similar to IMR4320. May be worth a shot... it ended up working very well for me in 303 Sav after I started getting low on 4320.

My 1948 EG with it's Redfield 80 and Sheard front is at it's best using 40 grains of IMR-4064 with either a 150 Winchester Power Point, Speer Hot Core, or Sierra Pro Hunter. Tried some old Remington 150 Bronze Points and got patterns instead of groups.
Shew me thy ways, O LORD: teach me thy paths. "there are few better cartridges on Earth than the 7 x 57mm Mauser" "the .30 Springfield is light, accurate, penetrating, and has surprising stopping power"

I see a lot of chatter on here about the 130 TTSX in the 300 but I can't seem to find an overall measurement for the load. Shot a few @ 2.600 but they were not so good. I'm guessing that 2.585 - 2.575 will be. By my calculations 2.571 would be the shortest potential loading.
