And elastic bras, those of you who wear them.

Ok, Mr. Wrong Way Corrigan. Monongahela is in SW corner of PA, the exact opposite direction we go to Noxen. grin
Yes, but I have a little secret. I'm not taking the direct route. I'm taking a scenic route and hope to pick up a minty 284 with a lever safety. Then home in on Noxen.

Dang it Roy, I hate it when people make me think. I looked at so many 99’s that day I got confused which was which. It’s an F. So if Winchester came out with the 284 in 63 I guess it’s a post mill. Now I wonder what the late 50’s gun was, 308, 243? Oh well, so much for the side trip. I think he still has several 1899’s left. I’ll have to call and see what he has left?

If that is the case, they win, you lose....

Only place I'd fly is Mongolia. Unscratched itch.

Greyhound Bus? Train? (Actually a cross-country train trip is pretty appealing.) You know how handy an 1899 Takedown would be for traveling on those conveyances, so no excuses.

Or, just stand out at the on-ramp with a gun slung over your shoulder and your thumb out. Should get a lot of attention....

...thine own.." And Yes, You are probably right Gary! This year might be my chance, if I can find the back door to this rabbit hole I'm stuck in.

Anyone have a Savage SMLE? I'll bring some mil-spec ball to share (and I'll bring my Ross 303 Brit for competition)

Strictly speaking, a No.4 MkI, Savage-made or not, isn't a SMLE.

That's a metric sh*t ton of .303 ball ammo! "I say, Sergeant O'Jeff, have the squadies set the sights on their Smellies for 600 yards and prepare to give those Huns a taste of ten rounds rapid. On my command - fire!"
