Looking for suggestions on decent steak knives. We've used our for 25 years and the wood handles are falling apart. Looking for a set to keep in the silverware drawer. Not the type that needs to be kept in a box. Thanks for any suggestions.

Whatever you do, don’t get restaurant style serrated blades.

Look at the Victorinox set, cheap and dang good knives. Good enough for us.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I have a non serrated Henkel set. They’re pretty decent and easy to keep sharp with a Rada wheelie.

We are still using the Chicago Cutlery not serrated set we received as a wedding gift 29 years ago. They have never seen a dishwasher and I sharpen them 3-4 times a year if they need it. They have been good knives, but I have always wanted a set of Wusthoff's to match our cooking knives. These will have a couple more years in them before I think about replacement.

I tried going vegan, but then realized it was a big missed steak.

I snagged a set of Wustof cheap and I have a set of Henkle.
Both decent without being uber expensive.

I can't remember the last time I actually needed to use a steak knife at the table. Do you really need a set? The dinner knife that comes in a flatware set is plenty for steak, chops, etc. Unless the meat is really tough?
Steak knife sets seem like an 80's and 90's thing to me, but maybe I am missing something.

Whatever you do, don’t get restaurant style serrated blades. Non-serrated all the way - steak knives are for cutting, not sawing
