What is a ruger #1 in 218 bee worth? It was manufactured in 1992 and was supposedly 1 of 200 made with a 26" barrel.

I have a picture of it, but don't know how to post it.

thanks

It is in very good condition, no marks on the wood and the blueing is very good.

Since you stated limited production, it leads me to believe that you might mean the 1-S (26" barrel with sights.)

I'm sure the #1'B's had far more #'s preduced than that. I just bought a 1-B last year N.I.B. as they were just discontinued. A perusal of my old file of Ruger catalogs, indicates that both the 1-B and 1-S were first cataloged in 1993. The 1-B remained in the catalog until 2006 but the 1-S does not show in the 2004 catalog but does show in the 2002 edition. For some reason, I'm missing a 2003. frown

Most folks I've seen with a 1-S seem to have an inflated idea of what they are worth. My guess is $550-$750 depending on condition. The Blue Book states that all 1-S models were discontinued in 2003 with the exception of the .45-70 Gov't. (And, of course, the recently intoduced 1-S in 9.3x74R.) They give a value of $785 in 98% condition.

Hope this helps....

The only #1 Ss in 218 Bee that I have seen lately on the i-net were priced over $1000. One has been for sale for some time at that price which suggests it is set too high but by how much?

The 1Bs are not commonly popping up on my scope. There were many more of them made as Grasshopper said and they should come in around the price of other recently discontinued models.

I was glad to se Mule Deer's most recent article on inherent accuracy had him praising his 1B in 22 Hornet. Mine also shoots very nicely but the it has had the set screw in the hanger 'fix'.

Regards,
1B

One just came up for sale not long ago on the Ruger # 1 group as follows:

RUGER # 1-B 218 Bee, has Ruger 3 Screw Trigger, Reading Deluxe 3 Die Set, 200 Rds. Rem Brass, 100 Rds. Win Brass, Ruger Rings, In Original Box 98 + %---$ 750.

Pictures of both sides are also there, the wood looks real nice.

Yes, Ruger made a very small run of 22 PPC's in 1993/94. It may be very hard to find one for sale, and when you do it may be over $ 1000., the last two I seen sold for $ 1200. and $ 1250., and it didn't take long for them to sell.

WOW,
It must have had something really special going for it, maybe super wood ?. That one on the Ruger # 1 group sounds like a very good deal at $ 750., especially with it being like new plus all the stuff that goes with it.
