Since you stated limited production, it leads me to believe that you might mean the
1-S (26" barrel with sights.)
I'm sure the #1'B's had far more #'s preduced than that. I just bought a 1-B last year N.I.B. as they were just discontinued. A perusal of my old file of Ruger catalogs, indicates that both the
1-B and
1-S were first cataloged in 1993. The
1-B remained in the catalog until 2006 but the
1-S does not show in the 2004 catalog but does show in the 2002 edition. For some reason, I'm missing a 2003.
Most folks I've seen with a
1-S seem to have an inflated idea of what they are worth. My
guess is $550-$750 depending on condition. The Blue Book states that all 1-S models were discontinued in 2003 with the exception of the .45-70 Gov't. (And, of course, the recently intoduced 1-S in 9.3x74R.) They give a value of
$785 in 98% condition.
