My daughter's Bernese Mountain dog managed to grab a bag of raisons off the counter and ate most of them before she got home. The dog ended up at an emergency vet hospital. After a ton of meds, stomach pumping and follow up organ testing the dog came out of "intensive care" with a $7,000 bill. Sadly enough, the dog died a month later from natural causes. Not trying to make light of your daughter's situation, was in a similar predicament myself last year. I just take everything a vet says with a grain of salt.
