I’d go with a Winchester M70 EW or a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless. Either would be in 6.5 Creedmoor. It would be a hard choice between the two.

Still a few Ruger Hawkeye African in 6.5x55 available. They only made 250, best handling/ shooting gun in my safe. Cabelas still had a few last I looked and a few on Gunbroker. I could be convinced to buy one of those. I don't think there are anymore left.

I don`t see anything out there that`s better than what I already have for my taste in rifles/calibers for general BG hunting. I`d take the $1200 and one of them on a hunting trip.

I’d throw in some more money and buy another Kimber Adirondack.

I would re-barrel an existing rifle & possibly pick up a scope w the extra. Each of our circumstances may differ.

Pretty tough going lately. A few years ago 1200 dollars would get you about anything you wanted minus custom. Savages are now 1500$ unless you want an axis. Nothing wrong with them and to each his own. Most I see in stores are anymore are prc, creedmore long range almost 2000 rifles. Again I'm a looney too. Buy what you want. Most just aren't fitting my east coast whitetail fill but this may be boring to many. I saw the new marlin/ ruger 1895 45-70 today. $1500???

This. Simply not enough $$$$$$ for what I like. My tastes have evolved past Remchesters.

I am debating on a Benelli Lupo in 300 win mag, a Sako S20 (but only if they finally make the stock left handed), or a Browning X-bolt in 6.8 Western. Something about that 6.8 I really like, and having a suppressor on their new shorter version they just announced at SHOT Show is really appealing to me.

I wouldn't. I'd spend it on glass

What happened to the "fast twist 22-250" part? Would you make an investment in a future collectible (not sure where value is anymore in the rifle world) or grab something newly released after the ShotShow?
I have less than zero gaps in my arsenal but am looking for a Tikka fast twist 22-250 or short barrel compact to cruise the woods with
Just curious - tossed out $1200 thinking it would be a good start - not a hard line. It’s still #1 on my list but being curious, I’ll always keep an eye out for something as an investment or I didn’t know about.
