Yes. Cooper's. This one knocked himself out plowing into the house in pursuit of a quail. Near suicidal when on the chase. Had this one in hand as it took him a couple minutes to revive. Can actually see Cookie's reflection in its eye. .

Although our eagle population is growing, the Great Horned Owl is the baddest raptor in our area. They’ll kick a hawk’s butt, I’m told.

Coopers Hawk, I presume.. but we have experts here who can tell me for sure. Sitting behind the house watching the bird feeders. Chicken hawk. Cause they taste like chicken.

Tik,
I got one of them big feathered predators at my place. He loves a certain fence post to perch on and watch the field. I also have a damn big Horned Owl that finds my place appealing.
Cool birds....Unless either one makes a run at my dog.
🦫 Got any quail or grouse?

Looks like a Sharp shinned hawk. I don't see the light bright patch on the upper beak, that Cooper Hawks desplay. My best guess. Look at the tail when it flys! Squared tail its a Sharp-shinned. Rounded tail its a Cooper's hawk.
