Won't be 209. He does the conversions to use large rifle mag primers.

Looking at a breech plug setup from him for my new Optima

One of the guys was doing them for under $300 with parts iirc. That was for a 209 conversion. The LRMP conversions will cost more but do have some benefits.

Bad time of year to care about turn around time though. Im sure most are swamped and trying to hunt themselves.

Jeff Hankins does them as far as I'm concerned hes the best. Hes done 3 of them for me. They all are great shooters. He use to offer 209 ignition you would have to talk to him. If it's legal in your state get the HIS plug. Pretty slick for hunting. I would suggest buying a Scout somewhere and just send him the barrel . $425 and you will probably have it back in a week.

I have heard Center Punch does the conversions too. Good luck reaching him. I've called and sent an email and sent a text. No replies.

Jeff Hankins converted one for me last summer. He’s a great guy to deal with. No nonsense strait forward guy that knows his stuff. My gun shot shoots great now that i have the sizing die where my gun likes it. HIS system is great and i would pass on the 209 is thats an option.

I loooked into it a few years ago. Hankin said he had one load for a recommendation. Now days, I dont think I could even find the powder. I even sold my Encore 50 cal. with a 45-70 barrel. Now days I only shoot my TC Hawken and my 54 Renegade with home made roundball, home made patches and likely soon will make my own holy black. Then all I need is to make a primer . I will likely be set then no matter how bad the supply chain gets.
