Wanting something like a bdc reticle with holdover marks out to 200 yards,light weight and a short tube,best glass i can afford. I don't need precisely repeatable turrets. Somthing i zero, make a holdover card for the bdc marks in the scope and ruggedness.
Usa made is a plus .
Putting this on a tikka t1x 16 inch 22 that will be primarily a hunting gun.

Here's one for ya. I have one on a .22. Not a BDC but a Mil-Dot that can be used the same. Real nice Japanese Optics. The one I have linked below is a 6-20X but they also have a 4.5-14X. Someone suggested a athlon midas tac 4-16x44 that looks like a solid choice.

Thanks for putting that up. I looked at the 4-12x40 Tract rimfire scope but passed due to the 75 yard parallax. Just noticed the 3-9x40 Tract rimfire has a 50 yard parallax so I'm thinking this will be my next rimfire optic!

A bit on expensive side but the leup 4-12x40 with a/o and fine reticle is ideal on a quality 22lr. Sure like mine.

Moderately at 17 ounces. Short tube? Yes Best glass? Very good. Should hang with anything in its price range Ruggedness? Very well respected for its toughness. $500? Jut a touch over. Made in USA? I like Tract scopes, but think you could better than the Rimfire 3-9x out to 200 yards. Maybe their 4-12x? I found that scope to have a noticeable "tunnel effect". the other Tracts are really solid, but not lightweight.

Athlon scopes are about the best bang for the buck you can find. Hawke also makes a series of .22 scopes with reticles that are calibrated for SV, HV, and I believe WMR ammo...
However, shooting to 200 yards with a reticle to match so you can see your target needs a lot of power for small game. I like a 6.5 - 20 or something in that range. Burris Fullfield, Weaver V24 ( 6-24), or the SWFA SS
