That's gonna need built back better.
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.

I want to know what happened to the interior bents(columns and caps)? I'd be interested to see what type of substructure there was as they had it rated in better shape than the superstructure (deck and girders).

They will find out that the Bridge Inspector that was hired to Inspect the Bridge did Drive by Inspections ( no pun intended) Just like the Bridge that was failing over the Mississippi river that they closed before it went down.
They hire a Company for big bucks and That company hires a kid right out of school for penny's as an Inspector The kid has never done anything but book work and he/she is under paid that they do not care because they have 15 jobs to look at that day.
Mean while the seasoned inspectors sit home because they want to be paid an honest wage for their services. Just speaking from what I've seen in NC, most of our private contract inspectors are licensed professional engineers or at least one of them in the crew is. We've recently over the last few years started utilizing more contract inspections and I've found them to be more thorough than in past inspections done in-house. I think some of it has to do with the desire to show they are being thorough and partially due to them not knowing really how bad a structural element is by looking at it in the field. I wished it was that way here in Commyfornia I have been a Welding , Concrete , Masonry , Anchor and Seismic inspector for the past 33 years and looking at how the Testing labs hire and the Inspectors that are coming into the Trade are. I want to be far far away from this State before the Next Earthquake hits. I met several Inspectors that did Inspection Forensics after the Northridge Quake and they told me a lot of things about what they found with their investigations. Things Industry wise have only went down hill since then. I am getting pushed out to make room for these book Inspectors and I am just about done. I know of other Seasoned Inspectors that have Tons of Knowledge to give to the Trade as well and they are also being phased out. Testing Labs here in Commyfornia do not want Inspectors. They want yes men and Blind knowledge so they can keep the money for them selves.

The report stated that there were two, yes two, passengers on that gigantic bus.
This should stand as further evidence of how public transportation is integral to climate security.

They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Nobody wants to spend that money.

So much truth in that statement. New bridges are beautiful but no one wants to pay to maintain the ones 50+ years old that wonβt be replaced for 10 years.

Yep - wild ride while it lasted - good thing only that bus was on the bridge.....
Damned rednecks always leaving their old vehicles around, cluttering up yards, ravines and roadsides.
Someone should pass a law. Take a closer look at the photos. There are several vehicles at the bottom, a pickup with the front end torn off and 2 cars.

i used to cross that bridge twice a day going to/from work for 10+ years up until last spring. sat on it for multiple minutes every afternoon waiting for the light to change. fuggen thing felt like a roller coaster when a truck or bus passed the other way. not surprised.
