Stick to your trade proposal, it's not always the deal, it's the hunt to the deal. In most cases the buyer who wants what you have, seldom really cares whether you find the ride you are looking for and you'll look a lot longer to replace that Ruger than finding a 444. Good luck

That ultra light is a nice rifle ! Do the full stock 77's in 250 Savage have as much interest?

I’m seriously thinking about buying a .444 Marlin just to swap for this smile

If I was a betting man, I would say that might last 10 minutes if you listed it here. Very nice.

LOL, I have seven. Four of them are pre-cross bolt safety but, I just can't bring myself to part with one. :-(

As for safety vs no safety, I prefer the models with the cross-bolt safeties. I know a lot of the Marlin guys hate the safeties. Many complain that they don't want to miss a shot because they forget to press the safety to "off". Truth is, you don't have to engage the safety. You can carry it in the off position as one would do with a pre-safety model. After all, the hammer is not cocked. The safety becomes handy when climbing, pushing through brush, unloading.......

Well, it didn’t take as long as I thought. Got talking with a good member here who wanted a different rifle of mine instead of the 250Sav. So I have a very nice 444Marlin on the way. Thanks to all.

Hey thanks T.S. They must have something going for them ‘cause you got four of them! The first step in curing an addiction is admitting you have a problem!😎
