In Canada, senators are appointed by the government in power, and not elected. Only MPs are elected to office.

This was posted earlier, but Canada uses a different electoral system, explained briefly below. I believe that we should elect according to proportional representation, but that isn't the case now.
.
According to the federal results posted by Elections Canada and found here, last election, the Liberals got 32.6 % of the popular vote. The Conservatives, 33.8%

Results - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Canadian_federal_election#Summary_results

Canada uses a first past the post system. This is where candidates are elected by a majority within their respective ridings. That does not mean that a party will win based on the total number of votes cast - aka proportional representation. It depends on the population of those ridings. Hence, the last election result where Trudeau's Liberals got less votes than the Conservatives but Trudeau still ended up as PM.

Trudeau promised to change the process to proportional representation, which would reflect the popular vote. He reneged. Had proportional representation been in place last October, the Conservatives would have formed a minority government.

A group of acquaintances drove to Ottawa on Saturday and they were turned back. They were told they could not enter the downtown area and join the protest because they were in a car and not a truck.I heard they turned back stopped for a coffee someplace and returned home to Montreal.

All;
Good afternoon, I hope the day behaved for you wherever you spent it and you're all well.

While I'm cognizant that WION news is right of center, there are 4.4 Million subscribers world wide, which isn't nothing.

It would appear that some of the reporters from India are able to call things as they see it.

This doesn't look good for Prince Hide n Seek and does speak favorably of the protestors.

Interesting times for sure.

I'll end with another request for prayer for all involved if that's a thing you do.

All the best.

That is funny, like I said previously, the only news outlets on the planet that support Trudeau are the fake news from Canada, but they have to make stuff up because it doesn't exist, thanks for the laugh Dwayne.

City of Ottawa is trying to find any way it can to harass the truckers, including going after the GFM money.

Of course, they didn’t have these kind of concerns when people were pulling down statues and burning building in memory of St. George of Floyd.

Tried to go to the city website to give the mayor crap, but the website is acting up. I wonder if it’s because a bunch of other people are trying to do the same as me.

Good time to boycott Tim Hortons and let them know why … how ignorant do you have to be to refuse service to protesters??

Wherever I go I try to not encourage any of these globalist financed cooperations.I look around and see if I can find an independent or family owned store to go instead and sometimes I succeed. As a small business owner I've been battling it out with these F...ers for 30yrs and still survived.

I have never bought a Tim Horton's coffee in my life, and after finding out their response to the Canadians protesting for freedom, I will boycott them like the other Communist supporters.

What's the story with Tim Hortons? I stop there rarely, they aren't very clean.

I understand "independently owned" to mean someone who owns the land, building and may have an obligation under contract to sell a brand product for a specified period agreed to in the contract until the contract expires.IMO,anything other than this is a lessee.

Tim Horton's is a franchise business.

Independent owner buys the franchise, must follow franchise model & pays the franchisee, a royalty on every dollar through the cash register !

I don't support any business that does not support me/us. It smacks of elite-ism and if one takes pause, you can get the same product somewhere else, I will not enter another Canadian tire. I will support the little guy who owns his hardware store and lives and spends his money right here in the community, quite simple really.

They can be identified by being....white, right wing, racist, nazi flag flying, confederate flag flying, fringe type's, gun owning, women hating, men hating, anti gay, and rebel rousing, otherwise I don't know how they know.

Any place that has justin Bieber for their ads is woke anyway. Tim Hortons is owned by pepsi/kfc/tocobell/burgerking. I believe. I'm not inclined to buy their shot anyway.

Some of the entities you mention here are affected very little by mandate because for example....you can walk into a Burger King sit down and have a meal without any passport, yet the restaurant across the road is going broke because you do need a passport etc... so it really smacks of elite-ism, and in my view should be illegal.

They are cashing in big time on the Mandates, no wonder why they want them LOL phoney pricks.
