Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

pullit, how is your Burris mounted? I had a flat spot milled on top of the receiver to mount the Burris I use. I used a 336 mount for that one. I bedded the mount to the receiver as well.

Nice MOGC! I used to stomp around the woods north of there by Jefferson City. I have family in that area. Some great woods!

Here is a close up picture of my main turkey getter. I am trying to get an idea of the difference in mounts form my old red dot to the one I changed over to.

Your barrels too long! Lol! Very nice and really like the picture of your set-up! Loves me some turkey woods! 24" barrel. Only reason I took the down the barrel picture was I didn't figure I would kill one of them. My "set up " as you call it was leaned against a big tree....the turkeys were less than 20 yards in the picture....I shot the one about 30 to 45 minutes later at about 15 yards when he came in the woods 90% to the right of the barrel.

pullit, the reason I had the receiver milled out was to keep the sight as low as possible and to stay away from multiple layers.
Another one of my turkey guns was a M1 12ga. with a 24" barrel, great gun. Maybe I'll start looking for a M1 or M2 20ga for the TSS shells I have.

Believe me, I want the sight as low as possible as well. Not super crazy about the Holosun mount but there are not a lot of options out there for that sight. One reason I am looking at the height as compared to what I had been using. The 870 is lower than the way I had the mount on the WBY 459.

Then I drilled and tapped the milled out area so no mount was needed. I tried the Burris SpeedBead to mount the FastFire on but didn't like it at all.

In about 2002 or 2003 I put a Swarovski 1-4x24 30mm scope with a circle dot reticle on my SBE....I shot it most of one year killed 6 or 8 turkeys with it then had a miss took it off and went back to beads. My eyes are getting older and I've decided to put it back on this year. I have both wood and synthetic stocks for my SBE's and 4 different barrels....they both came with mobile choked barrels. I just took a 24" Crio choked barrel to the Cerakote guy today.

Thank you, sir. Every now and again, I decide to take it old skool. That's a 1948 Model 21 in 16 gauge. The bird didn't survive an old purple............ 1 oz of #6 lead through the modified side. At times, I also carry my grandpa's old Iver Johnson Champion bought new by him in 1929.

A lefty! That explaines it! Lol! Incredibly nice scope and certainly an advantage for older eyes. When I got my first pair of bifocals, I had to give up bead sights, really screwed up my shooting. So for my hunting now, I don't wear my glasses or I use a sight. Maybe I should get glasses without bifocals. I have a similar scope sitting on top of a safe, a Meopta Meostar low power 30mm illuminated reticle with thoughts of maybe trying that, we'll see.
