To each their own but I personally never cared for the Steadygrip/pistol grip on a shotgun. Carried by the sling on my shoulder that protruding grip is digging into my kidney or clipping my funny bone on the inside of my elbow, catching on clothing when taking the gun off the shoulder and in general just being a pain in the azz. The shotgun no longer handles like a shotgun. Just not my thing, but good on those who like them.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
That last gobbler with the BPS 10. And the last time I’ve fired it. April 2015. 46 steps. Ashe Co, NC mountain bird.
Very fitting way for a gun to go into retirement. Yep.
That bird was a little over 22 lbs. biggest body I’d taken till then. 2 years ago I took a bigger bird, a little over 24 on zebco scales, with a Franchi Affinity. Last round I fired out of it because a friend wanted it and I had just bought a Browning Gold Fusion. Had been looking for a good one for a while. Maybe good fortune will smile on it this year.
But what I really want to see is my wife get one with her Ithaca lever action single shot .410. Her Dad got it for her way pre-teen. It patterns #9 TSS well at 30 yards. We came very close last year but y’all know how turkeys can be when you’re trying to get one for someone else. Best of luck to all this season. May you all have glorious sunrises to remember and friends to share the memories.
Colossians 3:17 (New King James Version) "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
Absolutely hikerbum! But it's fun to mess around with this stuff, at least for me it is. If we only got what we needed, Yugo's would still be around! Lol!

Bought this old 1300 used about 1990. It's still one of my favorites.
Always had a soft spot for those old laminated 1300's. A full pound lighter to carry than the 870 Turkey of the same era. If it's got the NWTF engraving on it, it'll demand a pretty fat price tag these days.

Nice gun !!!
Thanks. Unfortunately this one doesn’t have the engraving. My brother bought one with engraving not long after I got mine. I love how light they are, except when I pull the trigger (grin).

Thankfully, turkey guns are "carry a lot......shoot a little" kinds of deals.
just a generic 87o youth 20 gauge 21" barrel with a remington x-tra full tube and 3" winchester double XX #6 with a beartooth slip on pad for the LOP. betta fish face turning white
I always have a couple gallon sized zip lock bags along in case I find some morels... My buddy's family land I hunt has a lot of them and his mom, the property owner, loves them. I always make sure to get a bag, or 2, for her.
It isn't what happens to you that defines you, it's what you DO about what happens to you that defines you!
An established turkey hunter once told me, "you'll break that baby sight off!", or something to that effect... lol! Looking good LFC, we'll have you shooting fairy dust in no time! Hahahaha!
