What your experience shooting coyotes with 22-250, full throttle 40 grain ballistic tips or V max.
Do they exit, or blow up inside and not exit.

There is NO fur friendly 22-250 bullet From my experience I would have to agree with this. If you want to save skins, get a 223, 222, or a 221 Fireball and load some Hornady SX bullets (if you can find them), or some 53 Vmaxes....

that's about as good as it gets, for fur. Or you could use fmj's and lose some...... That's all my buddy uses and he has had good results. He does say that it makes a mess when you hit bone though. Pelts are worth more and more, and he has a trappers license and sells the pelts. FMJ in the 223 work just fine, contrary to city folks beliefs...

I've shot a number of coyotes with the 22-250 using a 40 grain VMax and a 40 Nosler BT. In my experience they do not exit, or at least I can't remember any that did. I have shot a lot of coyotes with VMax bullets and the only ones that I didn't like were the 32 grain 204 bullets. They were the reason I quit using a 204.

My best luck on fur was a 50 NBT out of the .22-250...it normally exited but left a dime sized hole.Next up was a 50 gr Speer TNT. It usually did not exit, but when it did, it was spectacular.

I've used the 52gr Speer Varmint HP #1035 and just bought 600 of them from Midway last week for $9./C with free shipping. Sa long as you don't hit the edges they are pretty good. They work surprisingly well in a number of cartridges, I use them in my 222 Rem, 223 AR, 5.6x50R Mag and 22-250. That bullet has been my goto for many years I do have one rifle a 22-204 that dotes on 40gr NBT's at 4000 fps that has worked well for pelt hunting also.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Pelts are worth more and more, your friend hasn't sold any coyotes this year, obviously. 22-250 is hit or miss, no matter what bullet you use.
Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.
