I remember when coke cans didn’t come with tabs. Or when Cokes didn't come in cans.

Clackers, they sure didn’t stay on the market very long. The glass ones shattered too easily.

the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded. Robert E Lee ~Molɔ̀ːn Labé Skýla~

I remember when electric vehicles were a distant memory. When were they around to be remembered? 1890's - through about 1912 when gasoline vehicles began to take over with the introduction of the Model T in 1908. By the 1920's electric cars began to seriously wane. Electric vehicles all but disappeared by 1935 for a variety of reasons which included the Model T being considerably cheaper than electric vehicles, a better system of roads, which necessitated vehicles that could drive longer distances, the discovery of Texas crude and the fact that gas and oil was cheap and readily available. Additionally, the fact that very few Americans outside of cities had electricity at that time contributed to the demise of the electric vehicle.

Very interesting - thanks.

Cloth feed sacs, when the store help would move most of a stack of sacs, on Saturday night, to get to the ones the wife wanted. Yep. The good old days. Country girls wore underwear made from flour sacks and their pussy tasted like biscuits. Had me in stiches.

The whole family sitting around a radio in the evening.
TV's with round screens. Constantly adjusting horizontal and vertical hold.
White margarine in a plastic bag, with another little bag of yellow dye to pop and knead until it was all yellow.
Having to buy 22 Shorts or Longs because Long Rifles were too expensive at 5 cents more.
Car trunks that really were trunks.
Headlights mounted on a crossbar between fenders.
Running boards.

The UNTOUCHABLES with Robert Stack as Elliot Ness, black and white. That was a great show. What I remember, I was just a kid and that was a long time ago.

Anybody still have one of the Exxon (Esso) tiger tails you hung from your fill pipe? Or maybe a set of the Mobil horseshoes (a cheap, tawdry, copycat IMO)?
What fresh Hell is this?

My dad used this stuff, every now and then he would mistake it for toothpaste. It was too funny, he would come out of the bathroom hoop and a hollering, we all would bust out laughing. He would get pissed we would laugh, I told him, If I were to do this, I wouldn't tell anyone. That was the last time I heard of him doing this. The things you remember.
