The smell of a freshly shot paper shotgun shell. I remember those days. I still load a few paper shells in 20 ga for doves. And I take a whiff of them after the shot. Takes me back 60 years. Nothing like that smell

The paddle in the school principal's office. And they used it too. Those paddles had a handle like a baseball bat, the other end, flat with holes drilled in it. If you got paddled at school,you got another one at home.There was a steel support post in the basement with a 2" leather belt hanging close. You grabbed the post and dad would tell you how many licks you were getting. If you let go of the post you got an extra lick. I’m not so sure I didn’t wear one of those paddles out myself. I’m still convinced that the holes were for ripping chunks of my ass off while getting beat with them. They were in second place to what I got after getting home.

Cherry bombs, silver salutes, m80's We bought them by the gross. I’m sure the neighbors hated ‘em. 😁 The border jumpers around here spend lots of dollars for their fireworks, and buy those big sky rockets that wake the dead and shake the house and rattle the dishes in the cabinet
