A reduction in noise and recoil, along with ES/SD reductions, coupled with an increase in Accuracy/Precision and a better handling parcel, will simply bolster Terminal Effects by literal default. Hint.

Take Fhuqktard's load/ammo particulars into considertaion and extrapolate same to the S/A and Terminal Effects gets another increase. Hint.

Now meld all, frost it with mounts and glass of repute and suddenly schit gets FUN,which means actually used. Hint.

I thought all that information out there on the fact that current generation of men had testosterone levels that were shrinking rapidly was overhyped. Then along came the 6.5 Creedmoor with a muzzle brake to confirm it really is a problem. Don’t worry young guys there are plenty of oldsters who switched to the Creed due to arthritis & failing bone density too.

There's a reason someone goes through those kind of lengths to show just about everything but an example of precision.

Members here are smart enough to figure that out.

To the 6.5 Creed... I have a kid awakening from the college indoctrination and who’s career path (wildlife biology) is taking her into the very wild parts of the West... she’ll be in Idaho and Montana starting in May working for the NFS and on a crew that backpacks deep and stays in 8 days at a time. Love that lil nipper, lol. She has been shooting with me a bunch this winter, in fact I’m pimping my .223AI just for her... I’m thinking of building/buying her a deer rifle in case she gets in with the right folks and has opportunities this fall.... she’s plenty big, plenty strong, but quite recoil-sensitive. So I’m thinking your basic, not-ultralight, huntin’ rifle as a pattern and a simple variable scope in Talleys.

So that’s the backstory.... 6.5 CM is probably top of my list for the obvious combo of low recoil and high capability, and easy ammo availability. What else should I consider? .243? I’m more inclined towards the 6.5 CM because it’s a bit better elk rifle, if it comes to that for her.

I can get more excited about setting up a rifle for her, than for ME, haha... I’d like to keep it stupidly simple.

So for you guys using one, Is 6.5 CM “all of that?”

Should add, the other option is 7-08. I have a M700 Mountain I could give her, but I’ve set that one up as ultralight as it gets, and it does have some pop to it.... but 7-08 is also in the running.

So.... .243, 6.5 CM, 7-08, or.....?

Easy - 7MM-08 is never not the right answer wink
