New to the 243, would either of the above mentioned bullets be better than the other for pronghorn?

Keep them both around 2600 fps and you should be fine with either one.

Both have been good on deer and pigs at full 243 speeds for me and my camp mates.

The 95 ballistic tip is the superior bullet. Shoot it as fast as you want... up to 3200fps. NO experience past that. It was designed by a Nosler rep for elk. powdr

Nosler 95. The 243 can’t destroy it. Load it and the 90 BT. On SC deer it has been extremely effective. First bullets I try in a rifle for hunting.

The 95 gr BT has a VERY thick shank. So much that it almost acts like a ballistic tipped partition on game. If I had to choose between your offerings I would even think about the SST for a split second.

Thanks fellers, I have always "heard" the 95 gr BT was a tough little sob.

I don't think either will give you issues, but like others have said and in my experience the 95 BT is a fine deer bullet and lopes would fall in the same category.

Gents, Does that Nosler 95Grain Ballistic Tip work in a 1 in 10 twist .243? I've got a Ruger No1a with a 22" barrel that I need to find a deer bullet for. Thank you in advance for your help. Semper Fi Soup

I have a Tikka 6/284 & a 243 both twisted 1-10, also a Rem 243 AI twisted 1-9, use 95gr NBT stoked with H-4831sc in all of them, kills big deer & antelope near and far, easily to 400yds.

Semper Fi Soup All day long. And Semper Fi back at you. While the 95 BT isn’t the slickest bullet ever it is a GREAT deer bullet and the peer of anything Partition in the same weight. Usually silly accurate as well.

If I had to choose between just those two bullets I would go with the nosler. If I could choose any bullet as just an all around good bullet for a 243 I'd go with a 100 grain soft point like an interlock or a Sierra but that's just me.

95 gr nbt or 95 gr npt can't go wrong with either on deer or South Dakota antelope. I don't know how tough the antelope are in north carolina but they can't be the same ones we have in dakota..mb

The 95 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip will always be my choice in the .243. I killed a nice whitetail buck with one last season, high shoulder and DRT. IMO, anyone with complaints about BT’s haven’t shot any in a long, long time.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.
