I had some Superperformance powder around and was wondering how it worked in the 270 WIN.
Based on the burn rate charts, it looks about perfect -right in between H4831 and RL22. However, Hodgdon doesn't even list load data for the 270 and a quick online search doesn't show much, other than Barnes listing some data for the 140 TTSX. I have ran across a few online Quickload charts that also don't even list Superperformance as an option for the 270 WIN.
Is there another reason why this powder (other than burn rate) why this powder isn't being used much for the 270 WIN?

This may be why, Hodgdon says it is limited in application. Because this propellant is tailored for specific applications, the number of cartridges and bullets is limited, but where it works, it really works! https://hodgdon.com/superformance/P.S. I'm not a gunwriter. I just play one on TV.

Superformance is VERY close to Win 6.5 StaBall, just slightly slower burning (both St. Mark's powders). Lots of 6.5 StaBall data for the 270Win available. Start there w/ the minimum load for your projectile weight. 90gr-150gr data here: https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center. In today's world, we have to be adaptable to what we have or can get; Go for it.Hope you have a chronograph. I use Superformance in the 243Win and 300 SAUM. It works fine. Good Luck. -Mark & Belle

I wouldn't be surprised if Superformance worked very well in the .270 with the typical 130-150 grain bullets. Have found it to work VERY well in cartridges with a similar powder capacity/bore ratio. Though might mention it's only average in temperature stability.
If you want to try it, I'd start with 6.5 StaBall data, as MarknMaggie suggested--with a magnum primer.

Interested in your results.... I have a pound that I bought a couple of years ago collecting dust and a whole bunch of 270 brass cases.
Liars should have good memories. H. Babcock

Barnes website shows data for their 129 grain LRX and 140 grain TSX bullets.

I had some Superperformance powder around and was wondering how it worked in the 270 WIN. Superperformance might work ok in the 270 Win but RL26 sits atop the list of the best 270Win powders.

Superperformance might work ok in the 270 Win but RL26 sits atop the list of the best 270Win powders. I wouldn't quite say that, though RL-26 is indeed one of the best. The question here in the USA is whether anybody can find any RL-26, due to the current "buying panic" of reloading components--the cause of the supposed shortage. Am wondering how available 26 is in Oz.....

I do have some RL26 and my other 270 really likes it with a 140 AB. This rifle didn't like that load. It also didn't like RL26 with a 150 PT.
I have a few 130 Interbonds and 130 Scirocco IIs loaded up with RL16, just haven't a chance to shoot them yet.
I had some Superformance around not used for anything, I would love to find a good load with it, if I could.
I have some Hunter and H1000 around that I may try too, if needed.
