Yes, I think it was. Eastwood used it in Pale Rider, too, to finish off the corrupt town marshal.

In pale rider he used reproduction new model 1861 Remington. Navy Arms called it the 1858 Remington.

I could be mistaken, but the coup de grâce shot to the head appears to be with a Colt Model 1849.

Oh that scene, I thought you were referring to his regular pistols. Definitely looks like an 1849 in that scene.

Yep, I just looked at the picture you provided, and you are indeed correct. Harder to catch in the video.

In 2018 I bought an 1849 Colt Pocket made in 1959 from a pawn shop for $445... It was all rusty

I drilled out a broken pin.

I threaded the pin and pulled it out.

I found some old stock replacement parts and timed the revolver with the new hand [part #18].

I got it running.

Based on the movie Quigley Down Under, lots of Colt percussion revolvers made their way to Australia. Or is that artistic license on the part of the writers?

Makes me want to go shoot my 1862 Pocket Police replica.
Cool little pistols.

I suppose of all the percussion Colt revolvers, my favorite is the Navy model of 1851

I've got a couple of them, both Colts. One is a Second Gen and the other is a Third Gen. The Third Gen is one of my favorite cap and ball revolvers.

He was barred from the military due to being a quarter inch over 6 foot 8. He doesn't pretend he's unhappy he was barred from the military for his height during the Vietnam War draft. Politically, he's an avid libertarian.
