Dang. Sounds like same Arne Brennan I did some of the test shooting and mag tweaking on the 6.5 Grendel when it was still just 6.5 ppc in the AR down at Lake Jackson Gun Club many years ago

Gonna google the 45 raptor. Seems like a 416 in between might be a compromise.

Gonna have to look too, hard to fathom 35 whelen type performance from the short 308 based case vs 06 based case.

We have 4+/- years or .375 Raptor development data under our belt (i.e. we have exceeded some of what Arne published).

A real badass round from a S/A or AR-10

A am not fond of the .45 Raptor (99% because I do not like any cartridge (of that power level) that headspaces off a case mouth. .50B included .50AE also.

Gotcha. Load data from folks I know with Whelen and 200s can approach 3000 fps pretty easy.

but its still well worth looking at both in the future. Especially since I have an unused ar10 armalite lower in the vault.

I'd still like bigger than 375 but 375 is nothing to sneeze at.

If I can find contact with Arne will discuss. Wondering hard now if a 416 version would be enough to headspace on a short shoulder.
