I used to kill the schist out of everything. Not so anymore.

All hunts to me are memories. I tend to remember the people and places more than the game taken.

This.

I've never had much of an emotional attachment to rifles. People matter.

I hunt for fun and being around good like minded people in some of the most beautiful places on earth. Memories are just icing on the cake.

Pocket warmers might fit in you drawers too.

Wrap 'em up in a hand towel or sumptin' first so's ya don't get scalded down there.

Sheesh.

I hunt for meat and to get the hell away from people and get some peace and quiet. I’ve only hunted with someone other than my Dad, Son, daughter or Uncle maybe 5 times in my life. Normally hunt alone.

Do you hunt to make memories? Or to kill

If I didn’t intend to kill I wouldn’t take a gun. Or slingshot, or rock, or sharp stick……. But I enjoy being a predator. That’s one of the many things mankind was meant to be. Many memories come from this pursuit.

Used to be a running joke in our hunting circle that the only reason I was invited was for my dutch oven cooking skills. And I was just fine with that since everyone always ate good.

Every time I enter the woods my intent is to kill something. I'm in predator mode. Otherwise its just a hike with added expense. That said, the need to kill has become less important.

One of our sayings in elk camp was "let's go out and make some memories". Now coming up on79 ,that is about all I have.

Buck deer, just to be hunting.

Doe Whitetail, fun and meat.

Ducks, dove, squirrels, quail, geese, cranes - meat, memories, fun.

Depends. Some solo hunts have been for making meat only - a memory only to me.

While other hunts have started out with pards as just a normal hunt, that turned into something epic and memorable.

I go to kill stuff. Memories make themselves. The first step to memories is to simply leave the house...

I hunt to kill and make meat. I'm driven to it like a cat and can't go long without it.

FB,

I've gone out there for groceries.
Looking back, I have fond memories of great family and friends, most who left this world. Hopefully, I'll see them all some day. Those people are worth more than a thousand trophies or freezers of meat.

A long time family friend decided at the last moment to not go hunting with us last year.
Two months later one of the group that was there died.
Old friend has expressed remorse about not being there.
Said "you can't make memories if you are not there".
