Thanks for that. Grainger sure is proud of those springs. $26.35 for a package of ten. I wish they sold them one at a time. Oh well... It's only money. Inquiring minds have to know…. Why would you pay for the springs when you can get the trigger and hammer pulls drastically improved, and a serious safety issue resolved for free? When I sprang for the springs (!), the recall had yet to be announced. When it was announced, I pulled the replacement springs and put the originals back before sending the guns in. Both the trigger pull and hammer-cocking effort after the recall were markedly superior to what the Bubba Job accomplished.
What fresh Hell is this?

You might want to check on Graybeard. Some of the guys who bought the Grainger bundle were selling individual springs at a good price.

Like Pappy, I sent my 243 in under the "recall" for the cost of a trip to the post office. The work was turned around quick and the trigger is really nice.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

I too reinstalled the factory spring when I sent my 45/70 in. My 44 is post recall made so it already had the fix.

My 357 shot under an inch at 75 yards when getting sighted in. Was very happy with that. But I was stupid and sold it.
